FM 522N Liquid Sedimentation Rig

Eight graduated and stoppered cylinders, arranged in front of light source fitted with diffusing screen to give uniform illumination. Sand or soil sample is prepared and the specific gravity determined using a density bottle and weight scales. The sample is made up into a solution, which is agitated. The setting time is then determined for various depths of sedimentation.
