MWS 650 The Wedge System

MWS 650 - Edlabquip_img_18Used to investigate the action and performance of this simple machine. Wall mounted, consists of a steel wedge mounted on a slide bar which is free to move in two guide bearings. Two arms which pivot have rollers at their free ends. The arms are pulled together by a spring. The spring rate and wedge angle are known. Thus a simple measurement of the arm spacing enables the mechanical advantage of the mechanism to be determined. The static loading by hanger and weights. Supplied complete with a set of weights and load hanger.
